| Carla, A Secret Life, an unauthorized biography of French first lady Carla Bruni paints an unflattering picture of the Italian ex-supermodel and claims she lives a solitary life, neglects her charitable works and forces her husband to socialize with her former lovers, AFP reported. The book by former journalist Besma Lahouri discloses that following her marriage to President Nicolas Sarkozy a presidential adviser was assigned to help rebrand Bruni, as a demure political wife. It also alleges that Bruni, 43, has had extensive plastic surgery despite denials, and had a 20-year relationship with a Paris surgeon. |

| Israeli start-up firm Tawkon has developed software to measure mobile telephone handset radiation, which is aimed at helping users reduce exposure to emissions without giving up their phones, Reuters reported. Tawkon's application is already available for BlackBerry handsets and will be launched for Android-based phones and Nokia's Symbian later this year. "We are the first solution that can be downloaded to a phone," Tawkon co-founder and CEO Gil Friedlander said. Until now radiation emissions were measured with an external device. The application monitors the phone user and if radiation levels reach a certain threshold called the "red zone" an alert is emitted along with suggestions to minimize exposure. |

| A Paris man who registered 55 children by 55 different mothers faces up to 10 years in jail and fines for suspected paternity fraud and for helping to obtain residency under false pretences, Reuters reported. The 54 year-old of African origin, who authorities did not identify, was arrested in his flat in Paris. Police suspect the man was involved in a social benefits scam. Authorities said the man claimed he met the women at bars, night spots and occasionally during visits to their home countries, including Senegal, Cameroon and Mali. For a fee of 150 to 200 euros, he registered the children and their mothers with French authorities, enabling them to obtain residency permits and claim social benefits. |

At least six of her "squad" bedded her for free. |
