Jun Porcelain and Ru Porcelain
Henan Province abounds in porcelain. The Jun and the Ru, two of the five famous porcelain styles in China – Ru, Guan, Ge, Jun and Ding porcelains, both originated in Henan.
The Jun porcelain originated in the Tang Dynasty and thrived in the Northern Song Dynasty. Produced in Yuzhou, it is a shining star in China's traditional porcelain-making art and is generally considered more valuable than gold. The magic of the Jun porcelain lies in its glaze transmutation. The glaze fuses and flows at high temperatures and becomes colorful under the interplay between emulsion and coloring. This largely diversifies the high-temperature colored glaze, which used to have only two colors – black and celadon, and breaks a new horizon in this art. In 2008, the Jun porcelain-making technique was included in the list of national intangible cultural heritage.
Known as the "Champion of Porcelain," the Ru porcelain is a generalization for all celadon baked at the Ru kiln in the Northern Song Dynasty. It got its name from the place of production in Ruzhou. The Ru porcelain was first fired in the mid-Tang Dynasty and reached its peak in the Northern Song Dynasty. With celeste as the basic tone, it also comes in azure, bluish white, and other colors, while the base is in ashy gray or grayish white. The exquisite craftsmanship, graceful shape, and mellow glaze make the Ru porcelain an epoch-making signature in China's celadon history. In 2011, the Ru porcelain-making technique was included in the list of national intangible cultural heritage.
鈞瓷·汝瓷
河南盛產瓷器，中國“汝、官、哥、鈞、定”五大名瓷中的鈞瓷和汝瓷均來自河南。
鈞瓷始創于唐，盛于北宋，出產于河南省禹州市，是中國傳統制瓷工藝中的珍品，素有“黃金有價鈞無價”的美譽。鈞瓷的神奇在于窯變藝術，鈞釉在高溫下熔融流動，乳濁和著色色彩發生復雜的交錯變化，而使釉色變得絢麗多彩，改變了以前中國高溫顏色釉只有黑釉和青釉的局面，開拓了新的藝術境界。2008年，鈞瓷燒制技藝被列入國家級非物質文化遺產名錄。
汝瓷是宋朝汝窯燒制的青瓷統稱，因出產于河南省汝州市而得名，在陶瓷史上素有“汝窯為魁”之稱。汝瓷燒制開始于唐朝中期，在北宋時達到鼎盛。汝瓷產品以天青色為基調，有天青、天藍、月白等釉色，坯胎以香灰色和灰白色為主，以其工藝精湛、造型秀美、釉面蘊潤、高雅素凈的風韻而獨具風采，是中國青瓷發展史上一個劃時代的重要標志。2011年，汝瓷燒制技藝入選國家級非物質文化遺產名錄。
