Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference
The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) is an organization of the Chinese people's patriotic united front, serving as a key mechanism for multiparty cooperation and political consultation under the leadership of the CPC. The CPPCC plays a major role in promoting socialist democracy and whole-process people's democracy in China. It is an important channel and specialized body for socialist consultative democracy, a key component of the state governance system, and a distinctively Chinese political institution. Unity and democracy are the two major themes of the CPPCC.
The CPPCC has national and local committees. Their working principles are:

? adhering to the nature of the CPPCC;
? forging great unity and solidarity;
? advancing socialist democracy.
Their main functions are:
? engaging in political consultation;
? exercising democratic oversight;

中國(guó)人民政治協(xié)商會(huì)議是中國(guó)人民愛(ài)國(guó)統(tǒng)一戰(zhàn)線的組織，是中國(guó)共產(chǎn)黨領(lǐng)導(dǎo)的多黨合作和政治協(xié)商的重要機(jī)構(gòu)，是中國(guó)政治生活中發(fā)揚(yáng)社會(huì)主義民主、實(shí)踐全過(guò)程人民民主的重要形式，是社會(huì)主義協(xié)商民主的重要渠道和專(zhuān)門(mén)協(xié)商機(jī)構(gòu)，是國(guó)家治理體系的重要組成部分，是具有中國(guó)特色的制度安排。團(tuán)結(jié)和民主是中國(guó)人民政治協(xié)商會(huì)議的兩大主題。
中國(guó)人民政治協(xié)商會(huì)議設(shè)全國(guó)委員會(huì)和地方委員會(huì)，它們的工作原則是：堅(jiān)持中國(guó)共產(chǎn)黨領(lǐng)導(dǎo)，堅(jiān)持人民政協(xié)性質(zhì)定位，堅(jiān)持大團(tuán)結(jié)大聯(lián)合，堅(jiān)持發(fā)揚(yáng)社會(huì)主義民主；主要職能是政治協(xié)商、民主監(jiān)督、參政議政。
