Hollywood star Cameron Diaz has been honored with a star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame in front of Hollywood's Egyptian Theater. On hand to cheer her on were Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, and Diaz's family members. Also present were Danny Boyle, Lucy Liu and director of "Terminator Salvation" McG.

Diaz was born in San Diego, California. From the time she was very young, she enjoyed rock music and parties.

When Diaz was 16, she began modeling. She signed with the top agency, Elite Model Management. In the following five years, Diaz frequently appeared on the covers of magazines and TV commercials. By the time she was 19, Diaz already owned her apartments in both Paris and Los Angeles.

But Diaz was never satisfied with being just a pretty face. An agent for Elite recommended for a movie audition. In 1993, she won a role in Jim Carrey's The Mask. Diaz gave up modeling to concentrate on acting lessons. The movie gained rave reviews from both critics and theater-goers, both for Jim Carrey's exaggerated performance as well as the Diaz and her devastating look.
