Theme: From the City of Our Parents to the City of Our Children

The Spain Pavilion, wrapped with more than 8,000 brown, beige, and black wicker panels, was nicknamed the "Spanish Basket" by Chinese media. Every wicker panel used to build the pavilion was hand-woven by craftsmen in east China's Shandong Province and each piece is unique in design. The pavilion presents visitors with a stunning audiovisual feast and takes them on a journey through time and space. A giant robotic baby named Miguelín that can breathe, blink and gesture is the most eye-catching part of the pavilion.

Sweden

Theme: Spirit of Innovation

The Sweden Pavilion is a perfect example of modern Swedish architecture. The perforated metal patterns on its fa?ade were inspired by the Stockholm City Center, while the inner walls of the pavilion are covered by images of the country's natural scenery. Examples of Swedish traditions and customs can be found all over the pavilion. The pavilion explores various environmental problems Sweden has experienced in the past and also presents the solutions that were used to solve those issues.

Switzerland

Theme: Rural and Urban Interaction

A semitransparent curtain that holds 10,000 irregularly spaced red discs covers the Switzerland Pavilion. The red discs flash randomly as the solar cells in them absorb and react to sunlight, wind and flashes from visitors' cameras. This intelligent fa?ade, using cutting-edge solar technology, reveals how much untapped energy is around us in a fascinating way. The four-minute chairlift ride at the pavilion takes visitors on a journey that explores the harmonious interaction between rural and urban areas and provides visitors with a bird's-eye-view of the Expo Park.
