Compared with HTC's Hero smart phone, the Legend has improved upon its predecessor's software and hardware. The Legend's CPU processing speed changed from just 528MHz to a whopping 600Mhz found in the Qualcomm MSM7227 processor with 384MB of RAM and 512MB of ROM, making vast improvements on operating speed.

This Android smart phone features a 3.5mm stereo audio jack and a standard 5-pin micro-USB 2.0 connector. Its entertainment capabilities have also greatly improved and now support more formats than ever before including; aac, amr, ogg, m4a, mid, mp3, wav and wma formats. Social networking tools available on the Legend include Facebook, Friend Stream, photo sharing via Facebook or Flickr, Twitter (supported by HTC Peep) and video sharing via YouTube. Its appearance has been given an upgrade as well, the Legend sports a new cool frame made of sturdy aluminum metal.
