Yang said the best way to solve the disputes was through bilateral negotiations between China and the countries involved. |

| BP's Chief Executive Tony Hayward is expected to stand down following widespread criticism of his handling of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, the BBC reported. He is likely to be replaced by his American colleague, Bob Dudley, who has taken charge of the clean-up operation. The BP board is set to sign off accounts of up to 19 bln pounds to cover compensation and costs arising from the spill. They are also likely to discuss Mr. Hayward's severance package. The Daily Telegraph reports that his pension pot could be as much as 10.8m pounds, resulting in an annual pension of about 584,000 pounds. Mr. Hayward spent 28 years at BP and became chief executive in 2007 at the age of 53. |

The director of the prison and three other officials have been placed under house arrest pending further investigations. |

They will release an album of Gregorian chant in November. The abbess said the nuns hope the record will touch people's lives. Decca Records, a unit of Universal Music, also has Elton John, The Rolling Stones and Lady Gaga on its books. |
