Chinese yuan 'not undervalued'

我認(rèn)為人民幣的幣值沒有低估。

"I don't think the yuan exchange rate is undervalued."

我舉一個德國的例子，那就是去年德國對中國的出口多達(dá)760億歐元，創(chuàng)歷史最高。美國去年出口下降17%，但是對中國的出口僅下降0.22%。

"Taking Germany as an example, its exports to China hit a record high to 76 billion euros last year. The United States saw its total exports down by 17 percent, while its exports to China fell by only 0.22 percent."

2008年7月到2009年2月，也就是世界經(jīng)濟(jì)極為困難的時期，人民幣并沒有貶值，而實際有效匯率升值14.5%。

"We did not depreciate the RMB from July 2008 to February 2009 when the global economy was in extreme trouble, but it appreciated in real terms by 14.5 percent."

一國的匯率形成機制是由一國的經(jīng)濟(jì)決定的，匯率的變動也是由經(jīng)濟(jì)的綜合情況決定的。

"A country's exchange rate policy and its exchange rates should depend on its national economy and economic situation."

我們主張自由貿(mào)易，因為自由貿(mào)易不僅使經(jīng)濟(jì)像活水一樣流動，而且給人們帶來福祉與和平。

"We support free trade, as it will not only keep economy flowing like running water, but also bring harmony and peace to people."

擴(kuò)大進(jìn)口，促進(jìn)貿(mào)易平衡

China to increase imports, promote balanced trade

我是自由貿(mào)易的堅定支持者。自由貿(mào)易不僅會促進(jìn)世界經(jīng)濟(jì)的發(fā)展，還能改善和提高人們的生活。

"I am a staunch supporter of free trade, since it will not only promote world economic growth, but also improve people's livelihoods."

我對有些國家要提高出口的比重予以理解，但是我所不解的是，他們?yōu)榱颂岣弑緡某隹诙H低本國的幣值，反過來又企圖用施壓的辦法來強迫別國的貨幣升值。我以為這種做法是一種貿(mào)易保護(hù)主義的做法。

"Some countries' moves to shore up exports are understandable. But what I can not understand is they devaluate their own currencies while on the contrary pushing for the appreciation of others' currencies. I think it is protectionism."

我們將采取措施，擴(kuò)大進(jìn)口。去年在最困難的時候，我們向歐美派出多批采購團(tuán)。

"We will launch new measures to increase imports. We sent purchasing groups to the European Union and the United States when the world was stranded in the most difficult period of time (in the global financial crisis)."

我真誠希望美歐承認(rèn)中國的市場經(jīng)濟(jì)地位，并且放開高科技產(chǎn)品對中國的出口限制，這有利于貿(mào)易的平衡。

"I sincerely hope that the United States and the European nations would acknowledge China's market economy status and lift restrictions on exports of hi-tech products to China, which is conducive to a balanced trade."

如果有的國家對中國采取限制措施，也無異于打擊了你們本國的企業(yè)。

"If you put restrictions on China, you are also hurting your enterprises."

中國的發(fā)展不會影響任何國家

China's development affects no other countries

中國這些年經(jīng)濟(jì)雖然發(fā)展很快，但是由于城鄉(xiāng)不平衡、地區(qū)不平衡，再加上人口多、底子薄，我們確實還處于發(fā)展的初級階段。

"Although China's economy saw fast development in recent years, the country still has problems such as unbalanced development between urban and rural areas as well as among different regions, a large population, and a weak economic foundation. We are truly at the primary stage of development."
