A boat of Xingang Maritime Safety Administration (MSA) patrols at a harbor where many boats and ships take shelter from tropical storms in Haikou, capital of south China's Hainan Province, on Aug. 5, 2009. The tropical storm Goni landed at a speed of 83 km per hour early Wednesday morning in Taishan of southern China's Guangdong Province, according to local meteorological station. Maritime affairs department in the neighboring Hainan province said Tuesday that it had issued an emergency warning to 20,000 fishing vessels in the South China Sea, calling them to harbor. Meteorologists also said another tropical storm, Morakot, which formed on the west Pacific Ocean Tuesday morning, was now moving at 20 km per hour northwestward. [Zhao Yingquan/Xinhua]
