Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao (1st R) visiting tsunami disaster area in Sri Lanka on April 9, 2005. China had donated 166 million yuan (US$20 million) to Sri Lanka by March. On April 8, Wen announced a further donation of US$8.7 million from China's Ministry of Civil Affairs and Red Cross Society of China. Thai Gypsies Finally Back at Sea On a group of islands off Thailand's Andaman coast, a tribe of nomadic fishermen is only just returning to the sea more than four months after their ancient beliefs saved many of them from the tsunami.
