The sequel, directed by Bush and Howard, opens worldwide in late November. A trailer released Wednesday shows Judy and Nick tackling their most dangerous case yet while facing partnership challenges. The film introduces new animal species, including birds, reptiles, amphibians, primates and marine animals, expanding beyond the original's mammal-only cast. A mysterious pit viper named Gary De'Snake plays a key role.
Bush, who traveled to Shanghai for the grand opening of Zootopia land at Shanghai Disneyland in December 2023, told China.org.cn that elements he observed in the park would become Easter eggs in "Zootopia 2."
