TOKYO -- An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.6 struck northern and northeastern Japan on Monday, the country's weather agency said.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), the quake's epicenter was located off Aomori Prefecture at a latitude of 41.0 degrees north and a longitude of 142.3 degrees east. (Japan-Earthquake)

KABUL -- At least two passengers lost their lives and 20 others sustained injuries when a bus overturned in northern Afghanistan's Kunduz province on Sunday, local police reported.
