ISTANBUL, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Türkiye will exempt key Qatari imports from customs duties starting August 1, according to a revised trade regulation published in the Official Gazette on Wednesday.
Under a presidential decree, affected products include dates, flax, tobacco, pumice stone, mineral oils, inorganic chemicals, and gaseous hydrocarbons, among others.
Previously, tariffs on Qatari imports ranged from 5-100 percent.
The new policy followed a joint economic committee meeting in February in Istanbul, where the finance ministers of the two countries agreed to reduce trade barriers and create a more favorable environment for businesses in both countries and the wider region. Enditem
