TUNIS, April 29 (Xinhua) -- Tunisia repatriated 80 undocumented nationals of Mali, Sierra Leone, and Cote d'Ivoire on Tuesday as part of a "voluntary return" program coordinated with the International Organization for Migration, private radio station Mosaique FM reported.
The operation took place in the El Amra area in the southeastern province of Sfax, Mosaique FM quoted Spokesperson for the General Directorate of National Security Imed Memacha as saying.
As part of ongoing efforts to facilitate the return of undocumented migrants to their home countries, a "voluntary return" flight is scheduled on a weekly basis, Memacha said.
Located in the central Mediterranean, Tunisia is a major departure point for migrants and refugees seeking to reach Europe through dangerous sea crossings. Enditem
