Weekly average prices of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) rose to 106.68 U.S. dollars per barrel last week from 105.48 dollars the week before, rebounding for the first time in the past four weeks, the the Vienna-based cartel said Thursday.

However, the rebound still seems to be weak that it is hard to conclude the OPEC Basket Price would stop its downward trend in future weeks, given the uncertainty of the global oil market and the economic downturn in the eurozone and Japan.

Analysts said the world oil price might keep its relatively low level in the first quarter of 2013, as the world oil supply would grow faster than global crude demanding, due to the rise of non-OPEC oil supply and economic downturn of some developed economies. Endi
