Jia, who arrived in Astana Tuesday for a three-day goodwill visit to Kazakhstan, also pledged China's efforts in boosting the region's peace and prosperity.

Build deeper ties with Kazakhstan

During a speech at Eurasian University, Jia, chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, called for a deeper strategic partnership with Kazakhstan and put forward a five-point proposal to that end.

He said that under the current situation, preserving and developing friendship between China and Kazakhstan is in the common interest of both countries.

In his five-point proposal, Jia said that, firstly, China and Kazakhstan should continue to boost the sustained development of political mutual trust and strategic cooperation at a high level.

They also should maintain close high-level exchanges, he said, and expand exchanges and cooperation in different sectors and at different levels.

Secondly, the two countries should maintain and deepen current cooperation and explore new cooperation fields by using the existing bilateral pragmatic mechanism of cooperation, he said.

He added that China is willing to continue to reinforce energy cooperation with Kazakhstan and other countries to ensure the effective and stable operation of the China-Kazakhstan oil pipeline, to actively develop cooperation on civilian nuclear energy and clean energies like wind and solar energies, and to explore cooperation potential in sectors such as transportation, agriculture and infrastructure.

Thirdly, Jia said, the two sides should implement the China-Kazakhstan bilateral agreement on cooperation in combating the three evil forces of terrorism, separatism and extremism and the Shanghai convention on fighting the three evil forces, and strengthen exchanges and cooperation between law-enforcement and security departments of the two countries in this endeavor.
