A special visit. Everything was set for the Premier's visit to CCTV Africa headquarters. Staff was there to welcome the high profile visitor. After being welcomed by senior officials for CCTV Africa, Li was taken around the building housing the television station visiting several departments. Along the way, he met the staff of CCTV Africa who explained to the Premier what their work is all about. He was then taken into the station's broadcasting studio where among other activities he held an in-depth discussion with CCTV Africa's Senior Anchor, Beatrice Marshall.

"Today I take this special visit to CCTV africa , because this is the first bureau overseas and more important since its a station that covers about Africans brothers and sisters, with whom we enjoy deep friendship. I am happy to see during the visit the cooperation between the Chinese and Africans colleagues. I am happy to learn that CCTV has a slogan that talks about Africa reported by Africans. CCTV need to have an objective and take place in the Africa China relations.China and Africa are all developing countries, relatively to say we are still disadvantaged . We have been speaking as one voice and the developing countries should speak with one voice to defend their rights and interests . our co-operation shows we are communicating fair messages to the outside world. I'm very happy to watch the animal migration episodes done by the station, this shows that not only are you involved on issues like economic and trade, but social issues too. In all fields China and Africa are working closely, we share a lot in common, from ideas to contributions. Last but not least, i express optimism to CCTV Africa , believing you will do more programs touching on the African continent in future, I promise to create time when i get back home to watch the spectacular show on the animal migration." Li said.

Premier Li's visit marks an historical one. China Central Television's Africa Bureau was opened in 2011 focusing on Africa current affairs. With over 90 employees the majority of whom are from Africa. The channel has several other studios spread across the continent making it one of Africa's leading media organisations.
