A senior Iranian military commander says that Iran will never be the initiator of any war, but Iran's response to any threat or aggression will be crushing.

Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour, commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, or IRGC's ground forces said the main purpose of the IRGC's ongoing military exercises was to improve the combat preparedness of Iranian forces to prevent military invasion.

The deputy head of the IRGC also said that Iran would attack any location where attacks against Iran were initiated.

The IRGC announced the new military drill Saturday in southern Iran. There were no reports on the specific location and duration of the drills.
