In an exclusive interview with China.org.cn, Dr. Jaishankar, Indian ambassador to China, discussed political, economic and military cooperation between the two nations.

1. This year is the year of communication between China and India, which is a concept that has been promoted by the two prime ministers, and I know the Indian Embassy has been working on this. What are the results from those efforts? As the Indian ambassador to China, you must have very busy communicating between India and China. How many places have you gone? 2. Trade cooperation between the two countries has been a major driver of the bilateral relationship. During Premier Wen's visit, the two sides spoke about a number of business cooperation proposals, but at the same time, we have still not seen much progress on a free trade agreement. Since the beginning of the 19th century, Alfred Mahan has regarded the Indian Ocean as the Ocean of the 21st Century, and now, this forecast seems to have become a reality as China and India emerge on the global stage.
