An assortment of projects including movies, Peking Operas, and even animations have been churned out. They all pay tribute to that particular slice of history and history-makers.

Sources from the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television have confirmed that the movie "The Founding of a Party" will be released in China on June 15th.

The final version of the movie is over two hours long.

A total of 108 A-list actors appear in the movie. The magnitude of the cast is one of the largest in the history of Chinese movie-making.

Directed by Huang Jianxin, the movie is a chronicle of events from 1911 to 1921 that led to the founding of the Communist Party of China.

The cast and crew traveled far and wide to detail the early days of China's communist pioneers and other key historical figures.

"The Founding of a Party" joins 27 other movies to salute the Chinese Communist Party's 90th anniversary. All the productions are set to hit the screen from mid June.

A revised version of the modern Peking Opera "Ying Shan Hong" was staged at the Shanghai Oriental Art Center on Monday. Created by the Shanghai Peking Opera Company, the play debuted to rave reviews a decade ago.

More poetic touches have been added to this new edition, which also features more graceful arias inspired by folk songs.

China's booming animation industry has also contributed to the 90th anniversary. The cartoon movie titled "Xibaipo" goes on public release on Tuesday.

It tells how a group of youngsters help foil a bomb attempt targeted at the village of Xibaipo, which served as the commanding headquarters of Chinese Liberation Army in 1948.

The movie offers a view into the Chinese revolution from young people's perspective.

Many of the country's stage stars voluntarily contributed their voices for the movie.
