In Altay City of Xinjiang Autonomous Region, the Ethnic Culture Tourism Festival kicked off over the weekend.

 

But this year, the local people were on a mission to present a record-breaking dance performance.

Both professional and amateur dancers attended the group dance celebrating their favorite season of the year. The 17-thousand-strong parade danced through different parts of the city.

Many traditions were also performed in the ceremony, such as sharing milk candies with the audience on a 90-meter long, Kazakhs-style tablecloth. 500 dombra players performed the theme song of the blessing ceremony, sending out the people's best wishes for the world.

Both the 17-thousand member group dance and the 90-meter long embroidered tablecloth are listed as new Guinness world records.
