Most girls like to dream of their ultimate wedding - the perfect dress, hair, flowers, cake.

The Sunday Times Style magazine set out to find its own dream bride offering a photoshoot for the winner in May 2011.

Fashion features director, Gemma Soames takes part in a live web chat with readers who want to know what makes this season's ultimate wedding.

She shares her secrets.

Modern brides know what they want and do it really well. A slinky style that's modern, fresh, clean, but totally church appropriate. Her hair would be lovely and natural, no crazy Princess Margaret up do's and her shoes would be really fashion fabulous."

Here at designer Suzanne Neville's boutique in Knightsbridge, London, many brides begin their search.

The cascading skirt of ruffled tulle with pearl detailed organza flowers is topped with a simple tailored corset serving as a marked contrast to the skirt.

If the bride-to-be has been dieting for months to fit into her dress then what better way to let go than with a fat slice of designer wedding cake.

Pastry chef, Eric Lanlard owns a cake boutique in south west London where he designs cakes for the rich and famous - including Madonna, Sir Elton John, Elizabeth Hurley, and Claudia Schiffer.

Lanlard is twice winner of the prestigious Continental Patissier of the Year at the British Baking Awards.

Wedding flowers are another area the stylish modern bride needs to consider carefully.

Here at McQueen's in east London a team of florists is busy putting the finishing touches to a bouquet.

McQueen's is the florist of choice for London's fashion pack. It recently did the flowers for Vanity Fair's post Oscars party and provides floral displays for top English designer Mulberry.

And it's not all just about what's on show.
