But if the power forward is to consolidate his position on the team, he will need more consistent performances.

Yi Jianlian said, "You have to fight for your chance and no one will give you that chance. So, whether I am a starter or a bench player, my performance on the court will be the most important thing. And, I will have to earn my time in the game."

Yi signed a four-year contract with his rookie team, the Milwaukee Bucks in August, 2007.

The last two years on his contract are optional for the team. That means Yi's performance next season will decide whether the team will use him for the final year of his contract.

Yi Jianlian said, "The pressure is more or less always there. I will stay focused on my game. I will try my best to improve my game in the new season."

With China's eyes all on him, Yi will tip off his third NBA season with a bunch of new opportunities, and a lot of pressure.
