The DPRK's leader sent condolences to South Korea following the death of former president Kim Dae-Jung. The DPRK proposed dispatching a delegation to honor the man who made great efforts toward reconciliation. South Korea says it has accepted the proposal.

The five-person delegation will be the first high-level visit to the South by DPRK officials in almost two years.

Kim Dae-jung died on Tuesday at the age of 85.

He won the 2000 Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts at reconciliation with the DPRK. In 2000, Kim Dae-Jung also traveled to Pyongyang, being the first South Korean president to meet with DPRK leader, Kim Jong-il.
