In the early of 1940s, hemlines of women's dress fell below the knee. And stylish shoes are for stylish hats...

Fiona Francis, visitor, said, "As long as you have got the hat, the hair, the gloves, a bit of fur, red lippy, it all seems to make the forties look."

Apart from the vintage clothing, during the festival, you can also find 1940's articles for daily use, such as dolly tubs and soaps. But don't forget to flatter your ears.... The Festival Swing Dancers are a group of people dedicated to keeping alive the music and dance of the 1940's era.

The event ends with a closing parade, led by veterans of World War Two.
