Nine Gates Snacks street
Just beside the Soong Ching Ling residence is the Nine Gates Snacks street. There you will find 12 famous local snacks shops. Its name comes from the nine gates that were built during the construction of Beijing. Historians recorded over 600 different snacks in Beijing at the end of the Qing Dynasty. But today, only one hundred remain. Those who make it to the Nine Gates Snack Street, are in for a pleasant treat.
