The high temperature hasn't stopped tourists' stepping out into Beijing's streets to find some antiques. From Bai-gong-fang to Liu-li-chang and Pan Jiayuan, there is much to explore in the ancient capital which has a rich collection of old treasures. On today's China Cool, we'll take you to visit some of the essential places for antique lovers.

Bai Gong Fang

Understand the name of Bai Gong Fang you'll get to known where you are. In Chinese, it literally means a workshop where there are artists of a hundred kinds of handicrafts. The museum is one of the five spots recommended by Beijing municipal government for touring foreign leaders and officials who visit Beijing.

Here, you'll have the chance to talk with China's handicraft masters, including Zhang Tonglu who is famous for cloisonne, paper cutting artist Xu Yang, and glassware artist Xing Lanxing, just name a few.

Here, you can also see the eight special folk arts of Beijing and the production of the replicas of the 25 emperors' seals, collected in the Forbidden City. To keep the old art alive, each master who work in Baigongfan must have one apprentice at least.
