Snow is still a great novelty for many travellers. And visitors are flocking to the annual Snow and Ice Carnival which is on in Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning province. Winter sports and lantern shows have proved extremely popular with both local residents and visitors.

Qipanshan Snow and Ice World, a renowned winter resort, is hosting the event. It's a great way for winter tourists to enjoy themselves with innovative activities that take place almost around the clock.

Festivities begin in the early morning and carry on well past midnight.
