The battle of new year movies is underway, as filmmakers prepare for 2009.
After working together in "Kungfu Dunk", director Yin-Ping Chu is on the road again with Asian superstar Jay Chou for another hit, "Blindness".

Director Yin-Ping Chu unveiled details of his latest film, "Blindness," at a press conference early this week. He calls it a new adventure with Kungfu, romance and humor. The director promises the film will bring a fresh angle to the genre.
Yin-Ping Chu said, "I think Blindness is a super contemporary film. It's filled with adventures, romantic love stories and entertainment. I believe the film will be a surprise to the audiences, from the styles and costumes of the roles to the design of the action. We are thinking of having Jay Chou grow a goatee. I have talked with him. He also expected some kind of change, to be more mature and manly. "
The film will start shooting in March. But the leading actress hasn't been chosen. Both director Chu and Jay Chou want an actress fluent in Mandarin. Then many guess if Zhou Xun will be the one.
Jay said, "We had cooperation before. But only in MTVs. We talked about more cooperation at that time. And I think it sounds good, double Zhou. Because our family is the same. I don't worry about the gossip about Zhou Xun. Her boyfriend is also my friend."
For the action in the movie, Jay Chou said he loves Kungfu and will take on the challenge.
