Lingshan Mountain
The highest mountain in the outskirts of Beijing, Lingshan Mountain has an average temperature 12°c lower than downtown Beijing. The top of the mountain is covered with snow all year round.
During the extreme summer heat in downtown Beijing, Lingshan Mountain enjoys springtime weather. Languid white sheep wander through meadows thriving with green grass, and you can see the outline of further distant mountains in the clear sky.
At night tourists camp in the soft fields, enjoying a sweet sleep rarely to be had in the heat of summer. A dark blue sky studded with shining stars may come as a bonus. Just remember to take some thick clothes to keep warm in the cool air and some mosquito-repellent to avoid bites.
