Qingdao National Laboratory for Marine Science and Technology launched a supercomputing and big data research center in Qingdao, Shandong on Nov. 18, collaborating with top research facilities in the country.

The Qingdao marine science lab signed agreement for cooperation in building the new laboratory with Peking University, Tshinghua University, Shandong University, National Supercomputer Center in Jinan, and Inspur Group at the launch, in a bid to develop advanced marine technology system.

The Qingdao marine science lab also signed strategic agreement with National Supercomputing Center in Wuxi and National Supercomputer Center in Jinan to construct an international network for supercomputing infrastructure.
