Transaction volume on Qingdao e-Commerce platforms reaches 523.57 bln yuan in H1

In the first half of 2017,?transaction volume on Qingdao’s 70 e-commerce platforms grew to 523.574 billion yuan, representing a 24.4 percent year-on-year increase, 2.5 percentage points higher than the average growth rate in Shandong.

Currently, Qingdao has the largest number of e-commerce platforms of all of Shandong’s 17 prefecture-level cities, accounting for 19 percent of the total.

In the first half of this year, transaction volume on Qingdao's e-commerce platforms made up 52.3 percent of the aggregated transaction volume of Shandong Province.

In the same period, transaction volume of Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Group (B2G) registered 517.3 billion yuan, up 24.1 percent from last year; transaction volume of Business-to-Customer (B2C) and Customer-to-Customer(C2C) reached 6.28 billion yuan, an increase of 56.7 percent from a year earlier;?transaction volume of merchandises registered 505.919 billion yuan,with a 23 percent year-on-year increase; volume of service trade was 17.67 billion yuan, up 86 percent from last year.

Qingdao’s e-commerce has been gaining more national influence, testified by the increasing use of its platforms by enterprises and individuals from across the country.

Statistics for the first six months of the year showed that the most active sellers on Qingdao’s e-commerce platforms are mainly based in Shandong, Guangdong, Anhui, Jiangsu and Chongqing, with their aggregated transaction volume accounting for 69.5 percent of the total.

Meanwhile, transaction volumes of sellers based in Henan, Zhejiang, Hubei, Liaoning and Beijing all surpassed 10 billion yuan with their combined volume making up 12.1 percent of the total.

Furthermore, transaction volumes of sellers based in Hebei, Shanxi and Shaanxi all exceeded 5 billion yuan, covering 4.7 percent of the total.

As regards the growth rate, the transaction volumes of sellers based in Qinghai, Guangdong, Shanxi, Jilin and Beijing have seen a relatively rapid boost, each surpassing 50 percent.
