French people are the worst tourists in the world, according to a survey by TNS Infratest released on Thursday.

Based on nine criteria including politeness and willingness to tip, the survey questioned 4,500 hotels across the world to rank 27 nationalities.

The survey for the online travel company Expedia concluded that the French were poor at using languages, rude, complaining, and the meanest in tipping. Spaniards and Greeks are near the bottom on the list of the worst.

Meanwhile, Japanese tourists topped the best tourist list, followed by the British and Canadians.
