This year has not only seen the successful hosting of the Expo 2010 Shanghai, but also the hosting of the first Taiwanese Club Forum. The forum attracted over 120 eminent figures from 87 Taiwanese clubs spread over 20 countries and regions around the globe.

As CPPCC Chairman Jia Qingling said at the opening speech, the forum stands out as a new platform for people from both sides of the Straits to communicate, and is of great significance for the improvement of relations between Taiwan and the Chinese mainland.

Shanghai Party chief Yu Zhengsheng, Du Qingling, head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, and Wang Yi, director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, all attended. President Hu Jintao extended his congratulations to the forum.

Shanghai Chinese Quintessence Art Co Ltd, a major sponsor of the forum, contributed artworks to create a more stimulating environment. Among the many works exhibited, The Drunken Beauty, the famous Chinese oil painting by Liu Linghua, was the most popular. Its image was used on silk scarves, embroidery works and postcards that were given as gifts to distinguished guests.

Meanwhile, the company was awarded for its dedication to the promotion of peaceful relations between Taiwan and the Chinese mainland.
