What is the significance of the Uruguay Pavilion's theme?

The theme of our pavilion is Quality of Life, A Commitment to Your City. Our theme is covering the theme of the expo better city, better life. In our pavilion also we have maintained our theme.

Tell us something about Uruguay.

Uruguay is a country with a very wide cultural background, the country is well known for farming. We are small but very productive country. We are one of the safest countries in Latin America; we have nice landscapes around the country.

How many staffs are there in this pavilion and is there any Chinese staffs?

We are now 6 Uruguayan staff here and also 5 Chinese staffs, who have already graduated from university and all of them, are very friendly. They can speak Chinese and Spanish.

Do you have any antic or special souvenirs in Uruguay Pavilion that you have brought from your country?

Uruguay is a very young country and we don't have that type of ancient staffs to show but want to let the visitors get the general idea about Uruguay. We have placed landscapes around the pavilion, we also have some souvenirs.

Will new environmental protection measures feature in the Uruguay Pavilion? Can you tell us about them?

We are in a joint pavilion and the options are limited to customize but we are aware about the environment and the global warming. We are showing videos to the visitors to make them aware about this matter. We are using wind based energy in our country and our country has the most water resources based on water per habitant. We use the water resources carefully and we are in total always tried to be environment friendly place. Here as well in our pavilion we are trying to give the visitors the idea that they are in a very pollution free place.

How enthusiastic visitors are, about Uruguay pavilion?

We don't have a big budget to be here but we like it to be here. The people like our music and they are curious about us. When the visitors get in through the entrance the 90% people cant pronounce our country name but when they go out of the pavilion they already know about the country Uruguay, where is Uruguay, how is Uruguay. I think that is a big achievement.

How many visitors (approx) have visited your pavilion?

Well, we already have nearly a million of people. When we started we had a goal of half a million visitors. Now we already have surpassed our goal and we are happy about it.

Would you like to say a few words to our readers?

For the visitors my message is simple but its from heart "I'm very happy to receive every visitor in our pavilion. I am happy that you come over here and show your interest about our pavilion and about our country. I invite more visitors to our pavilion".
