I live in a town called Dunfermline. It is near Edinburgh, the capital city of Scotland. I like living in Dunfermline because most of my friends live here. I like the big parks where I can play. We have a park called the Glen, which was made with money from a famous man named Andrew Carnegie.

I like my school and my teacher and I walk to school every day with my friends.

I like living in Scotland because the people are friendly.

I would like my dream city to have sparkling buildings, pink cars and lilac cars. I would like a candyfloss shop, a chocolate factory and a giant toy store called "All Round Toys". In my dream city there would be lots of ice rinks, lots of parks and a huge adventure playground. I would like it to be sunny all of the year apart from winter, because it would always snow in the winter. There would be a big theatre for people to see shows and pantomimes. No bad people would be allowed in my dream city.

Kelsang, a 12-year-old boy from Gansu Province of China:

This April a devastating earthquake hit my hometown, Yushu. A lot of people died. But no one died in my school because we were taught what to do during an earthquake after the Wenchuan earthquake happened last year.

My parents survived the quake and our life is getting back to normal. My mother cooks vegetables and meat for me every day. I want to be a policeman when I grow up because police saved both my sister and sister-in-law. I must study hard so that I can achieve my goal.
