A Sichuan gourmet food themed serial event walked into Japan's Yamanashi county on May 9, as part of a promotional campaign launched in 2016 to promote Sichuan culinary culture and discover best Sichuan cuisine restaurants worldwide.

 

Home to the famous Mount Fujiyama, Yamanashi county is located near Japanese capital city of Tokyo. In 1985, it established a rapport with southwestern Chinese province Sichuan.

 

At the Wednesday event, local residents tasted authentic Sichuan food, including Ma Po tofu, Kung Pao chicken, specialty noodle and white fungus broth with a smooth mouthfeel.

 

A photography show introduced more delicious food choices from Sichuan, from spicy hotpot, to fish-flavored pork, to exquisite chicken puree.

 

Hand-painted maps of gourmet food tours across Sichuan were handed out to participants, outlining delicacies can be found near famous scenic areas in the province and the most recommended Sichuan cuisine restaurants worldwide.

 

As a signature element of Sichuan, adorable giant panda figures were featured through the event.
