Construction of great irrigation project to be marked in Dujiangyan

The city of Dujiangyan, under Chengdu’s jurisdiction, will host a water discharge ritual to celebrate the construction of Dujiangyan water conservancy system more than 2,000 years ago on April 4, one day ahead of the Tomb Sweeping Day this year. The ritual has been practiced since Song Dynasty (960-1279) to mark the project’s great contribution  to the region’s agricultural and economic development. [Photo/China.org.cn]
