Ningxia Grape and Wine Industry Development Alliance, jointly sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Agricultural University, Northwest A&F University, and relevant government agencies in Ningxia, was officially established on August 5.

Hao Hailin, Deputy Secretary General of the Ningxia Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Director of the Administrative Committee of Ningxia’s Eastern Foot of Mount Helan Grape Industrial Park, and Kuang Tingyun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, unveiled the nameplate at the inauguration ceremony.

The alliance, responsible for intra-industry collaboration and coordination, will orient its work to industry needs. With enterprises as the main body and supported by the resources of the members, it will carry out information exchange, research and development activities, industrial innovation, personnel cultivation, sci-tech cooperation and application of achievements.

With the coordination of the alliance, the resources of the government, institutions of higher-education, research institutes and enterprises are expected to be integrated and information sharing among them will be smoother.

Its primary goal is to raise the overall level of the grape and wine industry in Ningxia, push forward the optimization and upgrading of the industry and increase its key competitiveness.

The alliance currently has 35 members and consists of a board of directors, an expert council and a professional council. Fifteen Chinese experts, including academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Deng Xiuxin were invited to advise the alliance in its decision making and provide technical support.
