Under the Helan Mountain, an experimental site for grapes is under construction. Zhao Zengzhu, who is in charge of this site, said there has been over 30 chateaus being built and no more idle land here. With government’s support for this program, wine industry in east Helan Mountain area is becoming the feature on the new Silk Road.
Back to 2010, Ningxia Autonomous Regional Government introduced more than 10 supportive policies after the compliment of cultural corridor about grapes. Meanwhile, the government also provides financial support for excellent seedlings, base construction and so on.
The government facilitates the development of autonomous region’s wine industry. Ten million mu of cultivated area within the region has newly increased and the whole area has exceeded 50 million mu. This year, eastern Helan Mountain area won the award of Emerging Industry Star.
After careful selection, there will be 60 featured experimental sites for grapes to be completed. Some well-known enterprises in Beijing, Shanghai or foreign countries even seek for business cooperation with this program. The eastern Helan Mountain area is intended to make cultural corridor about grapes a long-term project. Besides, Ningxia will invite 60 top brew masters in the world, adding more competitiveness to eastern Helan Mountain area made wines.
