The Shennongjia National Park pilot program has been officially approved, the Information Office of Hubei Provincial Government held a press conference announced on June 15, 2016. Shennongjia is located in northwestern Hubei province. The region's forest coverage rate is over 90 percent, and nature reserve forest coverage is up to 96 percent.
