American rock band Linkin Park is heading to China again in July as part of its ongoing international tour.

The band is scheduled to perform on July 22 at the Hongkou Football Stadium. Additional Chinese shows are slated for Nanjing (Jiangsu Province, July 17), Shenzhen (Guangdong Province, July 19), Chongqing (July 24) and Beijing (July 26).

"We're honored to be headlining these five stadium dates and reuniting with our amazing fans in China," said Mike Shinoda, one of the lead vocalists, in an official statement.

The rockers are currently touring in support of their sixth studio album, "The Hunting Party," which was released in June 2014.

The new album is the band's first self-produced endeavor, as well as their first to rely heavily on minimally altered analog tape recording. In their own words, the newest record grew out of "a hunger for a sound that we don't hear anyone else making."

The upcoming China dates will mark Linkin Park's third appearance in the country. They first performed in Shanghai in 2007 and then returned to the city in 2009.

As a long-time Linkin Park fan, Shanghai native Chara Wu is excited about the new album and the concert in July.

The 29-year-old attended the band's last show in the city and still remembers every thrilling moment.

"I had a really great time that night," recalls Wu. "All the fans were jumping and dancing, and then everybody started singing along when they performed 'In the End'."

Linkin Park has built an immense following in China over the years among listeners like Wu.

"Their music is part of the memory of our generation. We grew up listening to them. We saw the band change over the years and fans would very much like to relive the exciting experience they had when they were young."

As one of the most successful rock bands of all time, Linkin Park has sold over 50 million albums worldwide and was the first rock band to achieve more than 1.9 billion views on YouTube.

In 2005, the band founded Music For Relief, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing aid to victims of natural disasters.

It recently announced a partnership with Rock in Rio as the legendary festival gears up for the launch of its first-ever event in the US later this month. The event will raise funds for reforestation efforts in areas affected by wildfires in California.
