Lingshan Mountain in northwestern Mentougou District is the highest mountain in Beijing. It boasts magnificent peaks, large areas of alpine meadow and rich animal and plant resources. During springtime, meadows thrive with green grass and languid white sheep wander across the meadow, while the top of the mountain is covered with snow all year round. And because of the cool weather, Lingshan Mountain is also the only place in the capital to see mountain yaks.
