Day 1

Destinations: Arrival in Guangzhou

Today's Activities:Arrive in Guangzhou, which is also known as Canton, the biggest city in southern China. Met by local guide at airport and tranfser to hotel.

Meals:

Day 2

Destinations: Guangzhou

Today's Activities:Take a half day city tour. Visit Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall, which is built in 1931 with the funds raised by the Guangzhou People and also overseas Chinese in memory of Sun Yat-sen. Then on to the symbol of Lingnan traditional architectural achievement - Chen’s Ancestral Shrine and visit Qingping Market.

Day 3

Destinations: Guangzhou to Guilin

Today's Activities:Free time for your shopping at Guangzhou or enjoy delicious Cantonese food and dimsum. Then fly to Guilin.

Day 4

Destinations: Guilin to Yangshuo

Today's Activities:Guilin is famous for its stunning scenery and the best way to see it is from the deck of a Li River Cruise boat. The boats leave from various wharves according to river height at different times of the year. You'll be transferred to the appropriate pier for an unforgettable trip downriver to the lovely old town of Yangshuo. The afternoon will give time to explore the area which is famous for its small pubs and cafe.

Day 5

Destinations: Yangshuo to Guilin to Xi'an

Today's Activities:In the morning visit Elephant Trunk Hill (which really does look like an elephant drinking from the river) and Reed Flute Cave , which is a vast and very impressive cave system, are two of the best attractions in the city.

Fly to Xi'an in the afternoon.

Day 6

Destinations: Xi'an

Today's Activities:After breakfast in the hotel, you will set off for the incredible 2000 year-old Terracotta Warriors and Horses. The Warriors are part of the underground tomb of the Emperor Qin. Well over 7000 figures in full battle array are formed for battle in several large pits. Many of the figures - soldiers, archers, horses and chariots have been restored. In the afternoon we're going to the Bell Tower where you can get a bird's view of the city from the top. There is a music performance of the ancient music and a display of the instruments. We will continue to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda where widely renowned Master Xuanzang (Monk Tripitaka) stored his collection of classic Buddhist artifacts brought from India.

Day 7

Destinations: Xi'an to Beijing

Today's Activities:Fly from Xi'an to Beijing. Afternoon is a trip through the Hutong by rickshaw. This maze of narrow alleyways winding around the Forbidden City is fast disappearing, and you'll get a precious glimpse into their distinctive culture as you zigzag through. We will drop into a primary school and a flea market and the house of a local Hutong family. You will be able to talk to the family members to gain a true understanding their life.

Day 8

Destinations: Beijing

Today's Activities:After breakfast head out for Tian'anmen Square, the world's largest public square, which is closely linked to The Forbidden City, from which the Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties governed for over 500 years. Later you'll visit the Temple of Heaven, where the Emperors prayed for good harvests and rain, or gave thanks for the harvest. Today's itinerary includes a visit to the old Beijing handicraft workshop.

Day 9

Destinations: Beijing

Today's Activities:Leave town in the morning for the drive (a bit under two hours) to the Badaling Section of The Great Wall, which stretches for over 6000 km, and was originally built to protect China from the barbarians. You can walk and climb at your own pace, or enjoy spectacular views from the cable car. Before returning to the city you'll enjoy visiting the Dingling (one of the Ming Tombs), and the attractive tree-lined Sacred Way , bordered by stone statues, along which the Emperors once trod to conduct their sacred ceremonies. During the day a visit to Jade Caving Factory or Cloisonne (enamelware) workshop is included.

Day 10

Destinations: Departure

Today's Activities:Transfer to airport for your departure
