Dharma Drum Mountain, Taipei

Located in Jinshan district, Taipei, Dharma Drum Mountain (DDM) (or Fagu Mountain) is an international Buddhist, cultural, spiritual and educational base built by Master Sheng Yan. It is one of the most influential Buddhist organizations in China. It has great impact in Buddhist circles at home and abroad.

Every year, on the eve of the Chinese Spring Festival, a prayer meeting as well as the tolling bell ceremony are held on the mountain. Unlike other temples, pilgrims use flowers and candles to worship the Buddha. Without the curling incense smoke, the environmentally friendly idea of Buddhists is fully embodied.
