Anchang, Zhejiang Province

This ancient town in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, has a history of over a thousand years and is the origin of the representative Wupeng Boat (a small boat covered with black matting) and Wuzhan Hat (a black hard felt hat) of regions south of the Yangtze River.

Cangqiao Straight Street is an ancient street in the Ming and Qing Dynasty style. The best way to tour this street is to take a pedicab - 20 yuan per person - and the driver takes you from one end of the street to the other, stops over some special buildings, telling beautiful stories about the places.

Tips:

1. Anchang is only a 20-minute drive to Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport.

2. Visiting Anchang ancient town is free, but you must buy tickets if you go to the House of Shaoxing Private Advisor, the House of Anchang folk customs and the House of Anchang History.
