Montenegro is a small country nestled deep in the Balkans, on the Adriatic Sea. As a Mediterranean country, it boasts dramatic coast lines, stunning mountainous landscapes, sandy beaches, historic monuments, sun-kissed villages and vineyards, and the richest natural biodiversity found in all of Europe. Although the national government is making efforts to build Montenegro into the next Adriatic resort destination, even the large crowds cannot stop you from enjoying this country's fine southern European scenes.
