Opened in 2009, the museum focuses on various kinds of precious cultural relics found out at the archaeological site of the Acropolis of Athens. It houses nearly 4,000 objects, dating from the Greek Bronze Age to Roman and Byzantine Greece. The museum has won several important international awards including the award for Excellence and Sustainability from the International Association of Lighting Designers.
