Born on October 14, 1983, in Fujian Province, Lin Dan is often called as "Super Dan" by his fans because of his advanced skill and great performances. At the age of 27, Lin completed the so-called Super Grand Slam, also known as the Golden Grand Slam by winning all major titles in badminton, including the Olympic Games, World Championships, World Cup, Thomas Cup, Sudirman Cup, All England Open, Asian Games and Asia Championships, making him the first and the only player around the world to do so. In 2010, Lin ranked 7th on CNN Asia's 15 sexiest male athletes list. On September 23 of this year, Lin married his former teammate Xie Xingfang, in a wedding ceremony held at the Beijing University of Technology.
