Yang Xinhai  楊新海

Yang Xinhai, born in 1970 in Zhengyang, Zhumadian City of Henan Province, shocked the nation by committing 26 crimes involving robberies, rape and homicide in the rural areas of four neighboring provinces including Anhui, Henan, Shandong and Hebei between September 2000 and August of 2003. Yang, who was formerly twice subjected to reeducation through labor and jailed once for theft and rape, killed a total of 67 people, injured 10 and raped 23 during this period.

The monster killer confessed that he usually used a hammer, scissors, ropes and bricks to attack the victims, and he never wanted to leave any alive on the scene. Yang was seized on Nov. 3, 2003. The court trial lasted for nearly 12 hours on Feb. 1, 2004. At 7.30PM, Yang was sentenced to death and he was executed 15 days later.
